Growing Gamma Phi
The true and constant efforts of long-time members have helped us grow in the last few years. Some members make phone call reminders before events and we put together a calendar that's packed with activities throughout the year. Some events are annual events (i.e. Pottery Painting at Crackpots, Founder's Day with Dayton, and the Race for the Cure in the fall). But we've added many more to appeal to Gamma Phi's and friends that live in different areas of the Cincinnati/N. Kentucky area.

Get Involved! Program
One of the ways we strive to achieve our growth goals is to take time and call Gamma Phi's who live in our area that we haven't seen at our events before. We've formalized this program a little more, called it "Get Involved!" By calling area Gamma Phi's, we hope to accomplish a few things:

  • find G-Phi's that've thought about getting involved but needed a little "nudge"
  • get more sisters on our e-mail distribution list so they get event reminders and we can cut down on mailnig costs
  • increase attendance at our events and philanthropic activities
  • update International's records with more accurate information
  • build our treasury for charitable contributions & a scholarship

If you're interested in helping out, please let Jenn Wright know.

Gamma Phi Beta Creed

Gamma Phi Beta from the past has given
A Heritage that makes a fuller life.
Gamma Phi Beta in the present bids
Us strive for lasting values and ideals.
Gamma Phi Beta in the days to come
Will prove that fundamentals can endure.
Therefore we shall embody in our lives
The truths that make for finer womanhood.

Once more we pledge a loyalty that means
Adherence to all true and noble things;
A learning that enriches all our days
With magic gold that is forever ours;
A labor that each hour will glorify
The simple, common task, the common cause;
A love that will be strong and great enough
To encompass and to pity all the world.

Alumnae Initiate Program

Alumnae Initiates are women initiated into Gamma Phi Beta as alumnae members. They may be women who never attended college, who attended a school that did not have a Gamma Phi Beta chapter, or who didn't join a sorority while in college.

An alumna initiate may be any woman who meets the high standards of Gamma Phi Beta membership. She may be a friend, neighbor, mother or sister of a Gamma Phi Beta. She may be an outstanding community leader, professional woman or homemaker. Alumnae of a local sorority that has been accepted as a Gamma Phi Beta colony are also eligible to become alumnae initiates. An alumna initiate may not hold membership in another Panhellenic sorority nor currently be a house director of a Gamma Phi Beta chapter.

Since alumnae initiates will be making special efforts to become Gamma Phi Betas, they will usually be supportive, active and enthusiastic members. These women will enjoy friendships, involvements and opportunities and will make worthwhile contributions to the Sorority.

Alumnae initiates are a fresh inspiration to any chapter! This program offers mutual opportunities for both the alumnae chapter and the alumnae initiates. Each alumna initiate candidate participates in a brief, comprehensive Sorority education program, purchases a Sorority badge (or receives approval of the Executive Director to wear a family badge), pays membership fees, and is then ready to be initiated by a nearby collegiate chapter.
